Broga Hill

After for so long planning for a hiking day trip, on the 26th April. 2015, we actually set foot on top of the talked about Broga Hill. Brushing away the dust and shining away the rust of our old hiking days I would say. We were so eager in catching up in hiking, we actually had an early start from Ayer Keroh Toll at early dawn around 4.45am. Excited as we were all back then, yet we couldn't help feeling the adrenaline as the urge in getting back into the active life of hiking was so tempting.

Broga Hill can be Wazed on and easy to find. The entrance to the hill is right the opposite of the Rabbit Farm situated there too. We arrived around 6.30am after making pit-stops. To our surprise, the parking place provided in the oil palm estate was already almost full! Then we got to know that even as early as 3am hikers would go up to eventually stay on top for the sunrise spectacular view. For those who intend to hike in the dark, head-torches are sold at the base of the hill, even other merchandise can be obtained from there. There is also a place to eat which opens in the day.

None of us could have anticipated that we were going to hike the hill a day after a heavy downpour and we could never have expected the early stages of trekking up Broga Hill was so challenging with the slippery and breathtaking climb we were about to endure. The first ten minutes was already in us.

Almost upon giving up, suddenly a PoPo (granny in chinese) passed us.... waaaa this is not right, not that the fact PoPo passed us but the fact that is, she can and why not us? Collecting the courage from seeing PoPo we started on. Remembering the tips of not taking long strides helped us a lot in pacing our breath motions. Not to also forget to mention crawling and sliding in between climbing up and going down also gave us a great feeling.

To get to the first top was not exactly a walk in the park. Steep paths and slippery patches due to the after heavy downpour, somehow indeed managed, to almost break down our motivation, but eventually we moved on. There is something special about all hikers, we take care of each other no matter who you are. The care, motivation and cheers to move on was undoubtedly pure from warm hearts sharing the same journey.

To climb up the steep hills, ropes have been tied down for easy passage. Due to the steepness, you can't just walk down but instead you have to duck squat down for safety, it may sound funny but we found it handy. Imagine both of us lovebirds with knee problems do the duck squat, not a beautiful picture but a cute one instead ha ha ha and that is why no photo of it is taken .... and only upload nice pictures.

For hikers who actually does it every now and then, the trip to the top may take and easy 30 to 45 minutes. We took around an hour which is moderate for slow pacers like us (got to get into shape!). The photos above shows how steep it is and we were almost at the first top landmark! Almost out of breath so we took a rest and took some photos.

We continued our path to the first top landmark and to our surprise as soon as we arrived, the view was spectacular and it all shows by saying "Subhanallah!" being blessed to be able to see the beautiful serene with our own eyes. You will notice in the photos that Broga Hill is indeed popular amongst hikers, just look at the volume of people.

Finally, we made it to the top. The view was breathtaking, absolutely beautiful. There is no other feeling that can beat the feeling of satisfaction when you are able to complete your conquest. The calmness and complete serendipity of Broga began seeping into our souls as we were appreciating the vast view before us.

Broga Hill peak, standing 400 meters from above sea level at 3rd Viewing Point, is indeed a great place to go for regular hikes. We even saw families with little kids climbing up and some even reached the peak. Hope to be able to come here more often and indeed it is also a place where ties can be bonded and love can be nurtured.

Entering the venue of FITC, we sure would certainly not have a clear picture of what kind of place are we heading into. Passing by the ticket counter and starting our first steps into FITC it would seem like it could be just a monotone showdown but as we took our steps downhill then only the ecstatic view comes to life and no doubt that anyone will feel the overwhelming of pure joyful experience through out the visit, and that you would have to come here yourself to experience the mystic self-transcendence we gained from the trip!

As we walked down the pathway the whole place suddenly came to life with the parrots having a blast bathing, the greenery growth around soothing to the eyes and the feeling of pure serendipity filling the air.

The pony ride for kids

The Best Petting Zoo Farm! Even we got excited with the animals, specially credit goes to this adorable Prairie Dog which seems to like the attention of being in the spotlight! The one lying at the back was actually having a good time with me fondling his head and enormous tummy!
